Corporate offices

Connect corporate expectations to everyday protection.

A headquarters, office campus, or distributed workplace needs a consistent operating model. We help leadership connect workplace risk, reception, facilities, HR, security, and vendor responsibilities.

01 / UNDERSTAND

Vulnerabilities & operational challenges

  • Unverified visitors, contractors, tailgating, badge exceptions, and after-hours access.
  • Workplace concerns that lack a reporting route or clear escalation owner.
  • Different offices applying different standards without central oversight.
02 / EVALUATE

Assessments, requirements & technology

  • Review access, reception, parking, incident reporting, and existing emergency arrangements.
  • Evaluate camera coverage, credential workflows, alert routing, and technology ownership with IT and facilities.
  • Identify gaps against agreed policies and applicable requirements; involve legal or specialist advisers where needed.
03 / BUILD THE TEAM

Staffing, recruiting & leadership

  • Set staffing and vendor models, reporting lines, role profiles, and hiring criteria.
  • Support recruiting and onboarding; train managers, reception teams, security staff, and site leaders on their responsibilities.
04 / MAKE IT WORK

Department, procedures & implementation

  • Create access and visitor procedures, incident classification, post orders, and leadership reporting.
  • Develop a repeatable site standard, vendor service measures, exercises, and a phased rollout plan.

A realistic implementation plan

Illustrative planning: 1–3 weeks for a focused office review; 6–10 weeks for a single-site rollout. Multi-site programs are phased by location, technology dependencies, and leadership capacity.

Continuing advisory support

Monthly advisory meetings, quarterly site or portfolio reviews, incident trend analysis, and leadership coaching as the workplace changes.

WE CAN CARRY THE WORK FORWARD

One accountable partner, not another list for your desk.

Within an agreed build or advisory scope, we can maintain the action log, draft procedures, coordinate qualified vendors, coach leaders, verify completion, and send a concise weekly status brief during active implementation. We bring decisions and exceptions to your leadership; you retain employer, budget, and final approval authority.

Planning ranges are illustrative, not delivery commitments. We confirm scope, access, client decisions, recruiting, procurement, and any specialist requirements before agreeing a schedule.

WHAT CURRENT RESEARCH TELLS US

The need goes beyond
filling a post.

Workforce continuity, connected systems, and clear expectations all matter. These findings inform our approach; they do not promise a result for your organization.

60%

Technology needs to connect.

Genetec’s 2026 report found that 60% of respondents cited integrating new capabilities as a reason to replace legacy technology.

Genetec · 2026 report ↗Vendor-sponsored global survey: 7,368 professionals across end users, channel partners, consultants, and manufacturers; fielded August–September 2025.
Over 40%

Continuity needs attention.

More than 40% of surveyed security providers identified turnover as their biggest challenge in Trackforce’s 2025 benchmark.

Trackforce · 2025 benchmark ↗Vendor-sponsored survey of over 300 security professionals globally, including providers and in-house teams. This figure refers to providers.
Clear standards

Promises need verification.

An April 2026 ASIS practitioner analysis describes scope and training mismatches between clients and contractors, and the value of independent assessment and continuing evaluation.

ASIS Security Management · April 2026 ↗Professional analysis, not a population survey or evidence of a nationwide shift to in-house staffing.

The right model depends on your operation. These sources do not establish that organizations nationwide are abandoning contractors because of poor service. We evaluate contracted, in-house, and blended arrangements on requirements, accountability, and full cost.

A CLEAR FIRST STEP

YOUR DEPARTMENT. BUILT WITH YOU.

Your people.
A program we build together.

Keep ownership of your security operation without having to manage every workstream yourself. We can run the agreed assessment, program design, recruiting support, training, vendor coordination, launch preparation, and follow-through.

THE CLIENT EMPLOYS THE TEAM

Your organization is the employer.

You make the hiring decisions, employ and pay your personnel, provide benefits and required employment processes, and retain operational authority. The department belongs to your business.

  • Approve roles, budgets, selections, and policies.
  • Employ staff and designate the leader with day-to-day authority.
  • Retain purchasing, disciplinary, and go-live decisions.
RIORDAN PHYSICAL RISK BUILDS THE PROGRAM

We help turn the requirement into a working operation.

We can lead the agreed work: define the structure, prepare hiring materials and interviews, draft procedures, train the team, coach leaders, coordinate qualified vendors, and keep an implementation tracker moving. During an active build, we can report progress, blockers, and decisions each week.

  • Assess risk and design the operating model.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and leadership readiness.
  • Prepare implementation, handover, and performance reviews.

CONTINUITY AFTER LAUNCH

Leadership support that stays involved.

Choose a defined advisory engagement after launch. We can conduct leadership check-ins, review incidents and loss trends, maintain a corrective-action register, follow up on vendor performance, arrange refresher training, and perform scheduled site assessments. Weekly check-ins or written updates can be included when the agreed capacity supports them; the proposal sets the cadence and deliverables.

REMOTE IS A DEFINED SERVICE

Expert advice.
Wherever you operate.

Policy and post-order reviews, incident and loss analysis, vendor comparisons, staffing models, HR benchmarks, management coaching, project meetings, and tabletop exercises can often be delivered remotely.

Hybrid engagements combine that work with scheduled visits. On-site review is the right choice when the conclusion depends on actual access behavior, lighting, physical conditions, staff practice, or operational exercises.

Evidence comes before conclusions.

We agree the authorized plans, photos or walkthroughs, procedures, incident summaries, vendor information, and management access needed for the review. The report identifies what was verified remotely, what remains unverified, and when a visit is needed.

Explore remote or hybrid support ↗

A secure exchange method is agreed after scope. Do not submit sensitive security plans or personnel records through the initial inquiry form.

FROM FIRST QUESTION TO FULL OPERATION

Build the department.
Step by deliberate step.

Explore how a complete program comes together. Select a stage to see the work we can handle, the few decisions or access items we need from leadership, and the evidence that moves the program forward.

01 / ASSESS

Understand the operation before prescribing the solution.

Establish the risks, business requirements, current controls, and priorities that will guide the program.

What Riordan Physical Risk delivers

  • Discovery and site review
  • Risk register and priority actions
  • Agreed scope, responsibilities, and implementation roadmap

Decisions and access we need

Provide the business objectives, documents, decision-maker, and agreed site access.

Ready to move forward when

Leadership agrees the priorities, scope, and decision process.

How we keep momentum

Begin with focused discovery. Put urgent operational gaps in front of leadership while the broader review continues.

A focused engagement can begin at the stage you need. A complete startup connects all six.

Discuss your security program ↗

CAN AN INTERNAL TEAM MAKE BETTER BUSINESS SENSE?

Compare the full cost.
Keep the right support.

Transparency is key. See the contractor invoice beside a client-employed team, then decide what success looks like in year one and beyond. Model our support only if you want it. We can also strengthen an existing vendor program without a conversion.

Start with the site and responsibilities, then set an actual hiring wage and the contractor’s actual bill rate. The $26/hour starting wage and $40/hour bill rate are editable examples, not regional quotes. All figures are USD; savings can be negative.

01

First describe the site and the job.

Your browser location may not be the property location. Choose and confirm the property state; all assumptions remain editable.

May 2025 BLS security-guard wage references cover all 50 states, DC, and available metro/nonmetro areas across industries. The selected sector and role are hiring context, not measured local sector wages or contractor prices.

Build your comparison

02 / COVERAGE Define the service you need

Enter a quote or invoice for equivalent coverage. The $40/hour, $25/visit, and monitoring figures are editable examples, not verified regional vendor prices. A dated government contract shown above is a specific contract, not a market-wide rate.

03 / PEOPLE Price a sustainable internal team

Employee count is used for per-person benefits and payroll tax caps. Scheduled post hours are counted once. Enter extra paid leave/relief only when the employer must pay leave and a second person to cover the same post; do not count ordinary shift rotation twice. Zero benefit allowance means no added benefit cost in this illustration, not a legal determination. Review shifts, breaks, leave and replacement coverage.

04 / EMPLOYER COSTS Include taxes, insurance & management

Employer Social Security is modeled at 6.2% up to $184,500 per employee and Medicare at 1.45%, using 2026 rules. Capped taxes approximate equal pay across the entered workforce. Confirm actual employee-level payroll.

BLS wages and DOL UI references are not an employer-specific tax quote. Workers’ comp, paid-leave programs, local levies, and payroll administration vary. Include capped state levies such as California ETT in annual admin if not separately modeled. Employee federal/state income-tax withholding is taken from gross pay; it is not added again as an employer cost.

Do not count employee union dues as a new employer expense. Avoid duplicating health or pension benefits already included above.

05 / RIORDAN SUPPORT Include setup, advice & scheduled visits

No consulting fee is assumed until you select a service or enter an actual proposal. Add one-time recruiting, uniforms, technology, transition and specialist costs only if they are incremental and outside another budget line. A program build is individually scoped.

All preparation, calls, writing, HR coordination, and site work consume the same reserved capacity. Visits are not charged again as day fees. Additional planned hours use the entered overage rate and require agreement. Travel expenses and transit-only time are separate; never bill the same time as both transit and consulting. HR specialists and labor counsel are scoped separately.

06 / PROJECTION Set the years and annual cost changes

Future tax rates and taxable wage caps are held at 2026 references. Coverage and workforce are held constant. Escalation is an assumption, not a forecast. This model does not calculate employee take-home pay, scheduling compliance, or every local tax.

YEAR BY YEAR

Make the ongoing cost visible.

Projected annual and cumulative cost comparison
YearContractorClient-employed + selected supportAnnual reduction / (increase)Cumulative reduction / (increase)
Data sources, assumptions & limits +

Wages: BLS May 2025 OEWS, occupation 33-9032, employee mean and median hourly pay. UI: DOL estimated 2026 average employer contribution rates; these are references, not your assigned rate. California uses EDD’s 2026 new-employer and projected FUTA references. Federal rules: IRS Publication 15 (2026). Data checked October 28, 2026. A Florida public contract example uses the Florida DMS Allied Universal state term price sheet 92121500-24-STC, initial-term, long-commitment, full-time Level I rate. The Nevada example uses the Washoe County FY23 agreement. Neither is a private-market average or a current site quote.

Local minimum wages, prevailing wages, overtime rules, CBA obligations, exact insurance premiums, and employer-specific payroll rates require confirmation. A government wage benchmark is not a recommended wage or a qualified-officer recruitment guarantee. A short patrol, a monitoring workflow, and a continuously staffed post are different service levels. Monitoring displays cost differences without an ROI or payback claim.

UI, FUTA, and Social Security caps approximate equal annual pay across the entered employees. Turnover, prior wages, part-time staff, and uneven compensation can change capped taxes. Coverage, service quality, and responsibility must be comparable before using a savings figure. Neither cost estimates nor consulting can guarantee incident prevention.

PROTECTION BEFORE A GUARD POST

No on-site officers?
Start with a security framework.

Security is more than a guard contract. We can assess access, loss exposure, emergency readiness, vendor performance, reporting, cameras and alarms, and then train the staff who are already on site. An agreed training day can rehearse observation, escalation, de-escalation, incident reporting and evacuation without asking employees to act as security officers.

01 / ASSESS

Know the property.

Walk the site or review it remotely where evidence permits. Examine local incident patterns, operations, access points, people, assets and existing procedures. Separate verified facts from assumptions.

02 / BUILD

Give everyone a role.

Develop a prioritized action plan, staff training day, contact tree, decision thresholds, vendor requirements and plain-language incident procedures. Price technology and staffing only where justified.

03 / REHEARSE

Test the response.

Coordinate with local police and fire leadership when available, verify current emergency contacts, identify primary and alternate hospital destinations with local EMS guidance, and test ingress, egress, shelter and evacuation routes with the property team. Emergency services control their own response.

ILLUSTRATIVE SCENARIO WORKSHOP

Turn an incident category into a response exercise.

Choose a risk to preview the questions we would tailor to your property. This is a planning example based on citywide categories, not a forecast or a location-specific threat rating.

Plan a property-specific review

For a property-specific map, we would confirm the actual address, study the jurisdiction’s current public records and known data gaps, review site conditions, and build a route and contact plan with the client and local responders. Coverage and data quality vary by jurisdiction. A future automated nationwide map would require verified data feeds, geocoding, updates, privacy review and human validation; it is not presented here as an existing live risk score.

THE RIORDAN PROMISE · FOLLOW-THROUGH YOU CAN VERIFY

Another apology
is not an improvement plan.

You raise the same concern. Your provider apologizes. A replacement starts strong, then old problems return. Changing the logo on the uniform does not establish the training, supervision, and evidence needed to sustain service.

We help you address the cause: unclear requirements, weak site-specific preparation, missed supervision, unreliable systems, or actions nobody owns. Improve your current contractor, change providers, build an internal team, or combine approaches around your actual needs.

We set the agreed standard, verify the work, and keep checking after the first three days, three weeks, and three months.

FIRST DAYS

Confirm readiness.

We check assigned responsibilities, site induction, escalation contacts, camera coverage, access permissions, and open defects against the agreed requirements.

FIRST WEEKS

Test the delivery.

We can sample reports, observe procedures, verify training in practice, test agreed system workflows, and track each corrective action to an owner and due date.

30 / 60 / 90 DAYS & BEYOND

Watch for drift.

We review recurring exceptions, staff changes, unresolved technology issues, and vendor commitments. The agreed advisory scope can continue those reviews monthly or quarterly.

A BETTER RECORD OF REASONABLE ACTION

Make risk visible. Follow through. Keep the evidence.

We can identify gaps, document priorities, assign corrective actions, follow up with vendors and leaders, and record what was completed or still needs a decision. That gives your organization a clearer basis for management, insurer, and adviser conversations. No assessment or consultant transfers the employer’s duties or guarantees that an incident, claim, or lawsuit will not occur. Legal and insurance conclusions belong to your counsel and insurer.

Approach informed by OSHA guidance on ongoing hazard identification and program evaluation and corrective action.

SECURITY. RISK. LOSS PREVENTION.

A complete program.
A scope built for you.

The examples below are starting points. Bring us the security need you actually have, even if it does not fit a neat service category. A SECURITY LEADER IN YOUR CORNER

After launch,
stay supported.

Your property manager, general manager, director of operations, HR partner, or on-site security leader can bring an issue directly to Sean. We can investigate the agreed problem, recommend a decision, coordinate follow-up, and keep the action visible within the reserved advisory capacity.

MONTHLY REVIEWS

Keep leadership connected.

We can review incidents, losses, open risks, staffing, HR benchmarks, training, and vendor performance, then maintain the agreed action register and report progress to leadership.

ON-SITE CHECK-INS

See the program in practice.

Schedule a quarterly visit, several visits per quarter, or multi-day monthly work by agreement. Site time consumes the agreed capacity; travel is separate.

TURNOVER & CONTINUITY

Handle change deliberately.

Support role reviews, recruiting, handovers, refresher training, and new-supervisor readiness. Additional recruiting or specialist HR work is separately scoped.

Need a weekly operating rhythm?

We can scope a short weekly leadership call and written action update, with monthly analysis and scheduled site visits layered in. The time for calls, investigation, coordination, writing, and follow-up counts toward the reserved capacity. Larger site work or active turnover support is quoted to fit the workload.

Reserved advisory capacity

$3,000Up to 12 hours/monthMore frequent reviews, procedures, HR benchmarks, incident and vendor discussions.
$5,000Up to 20 hours/monthMore involved implementation, coordinated site work, and multi-department leadership support.
Capacity, availability & travel +

Preparation, calls, analysis, writing, on-site work, and follow-up count toward capacity. The proposal sets business-hour availability and an acknowledgment target; advisory is not 24/7 emergency response. Initial assessments and major program builds are separate. The starting structure is monthly payment in advance, an initial three-month engagement, then monthly renewal, with no automatic rollover. Additional work requires approval; the planning rate is $275/hour.

Agree transportation, lodging, ground transport, transit-only time, and an expense cap before booking. Approved expenses are charged at cost with receipts. A client-provided suitable room can reduce the budget. Local travel inclusions are defined per proposal. Never bill the same period as both productive consulting and transit.

Design your advisory engagement ↗

MOMENTUM WITH ACCOUNTABILITY

Move quickly.
Build deliberately.

Useful progress should not wait for every part of a project to finish. We identify priorities, bring decisions forward, and coordinate practical workstreams around your deadline.

01 / PRIORITIZE

Address what matters first.

Surface urgent operational gaps early and give leadership a clear set of next decisions.

02 / COORDINATE

Work in parallel.

Align recruiting, procedure development, training preparation, and feasible vendor tasks where the project allows.

03 / UNBLOCK

Keep decisions moving.

Track owners, dependencies, approvals, and outstanding issues so the next step stays visible.

04 / VERIFY

Launch when ready.

Confirm the people, procedures, and agreed systems can operate together. Set a schedule around evidence and actual requirements.

SECURITY + HUMAN RESOURCES

Define the standard.
Make performance visible.

Security protects people, assets, revenue, and continuity. HR can help make that contribution measurable through clear roles, realistic benchmarks, consistent coaching, and documented follow-through.

We connect security leadership and HR from role design through ongoing performance. Agree what good work looks like, how it is evidenced, who reviews it, and how gaps are addressed after onboarding and implementation.

Support the process beyond hiring.

We can develop role scorecards, supervisor checklists, review schedules, training records, and a consistent coaching and documentation framework. We can facilitate check-ins with managers, security leaders, and HR and track agreed improvements after hiring.

Bring in the right HR specialist.

An engagement can include a suitably qualified HR professional, by agreement, to support documentation, performance meetings, turnover, and separation processes. Specialist fees and availability are scoped; the employer retains employment decisions and authority.

Respect the employment framework.

Align expectations with HR policy, required accommodations, protected rights, applicable contracts, and any collective bargaining agreement. At-will status does not remove every restriction or termination risk. Legal advice and labor negotiations require the appropriate counsel or authorized representative.

Across these settings, his approach remains practical: prepare people to exercise sound judgment, make responsibilities clear, and follow through beyond launch. He brings that operating perspective to each engagement, with specialist roles defined around the actual need.

BEFORE WE BEGIN

Clear expectations.
Better decisions.

Can HR support include performance or separation meetings?

Yes, an agreed engagement can include an appropriately qualified HR professional to support documentation, review processes, meetings, and separation planning. The client remains the employer and retains decisions and authority. Specialist fees and availability are confirmed in scope. At-will employment does not remove protected rights, contract terms, or collective-bargaining obligations; legal questions go to the appropriate counsel.

Can an in-house conversion remove union obligations?

A change of operating model does not automatically remove bargaining, contract, or successor-employer obligations. Review the existing workforce and agreements with HR and labor counsel before changing employment terms or making offers. We support operational planning and cost visibility alongside that review. NLRB employer guidance.

How quickly can we get started?

We start by confirming your priorities, deadline, decision-maker, site access, and available information. The proposal identifies immediate actions and parallel workstreams so useful work can begin promptly once agreed. The industry guides show illustrative planning ranges; your schedule depends on scope, approvals, recruiting, vendors, construction, and local requirements. No universal completion date is promised.

Who employs the security personnel?

Your organization hires and employs its internal personnel. We can support role design, recruitment, interviews, onboarding, training, supervision standards, and leadership development. You make employment decisions and retain payroll, benefits, required checks, and employer obligations. A consulting engagement does not make Riordan Physical Risk the employer of your security team.

What happens after the department is launched?

Choose a defined monthly or quarterly advisory arrangement with leadership meetings, performance and incident reviews, vendor scorecards, training refreshers, and scheduled site assessments. The scope sets deliverables, capacity, travel, and availability. Continuing advice supports your management team; it is not a 24/7 emergency response service.

What if my security need is not listed here?

Start the conversation. The service list is a guide, not a limit on what we can explore. We work through your concern, site, operating environment, and desired outcome, then define the right engagement, whether it is a focused review, an implementation project, or a complete security program with continuing support. Where specialist work is needed, we help establish the right project roles.

Do you work nationwide and internationally?

We are based in California and combine remote consulting with scheduled on-site support across the United States. International projects are considered by agreement, with location, travel, local requirements, qualified delivery partners, and responsibilities confirmed before work begins. We can help a multinational organization develop consistent security standards without assuming that one location’s procedures fit every jurisdiction.

Can you build an entire security operation from scratch?

Yes. An engagement can connect risk assessment, loss prevention, program structure, construction-team input, vendor requirements, staffing preparation, training, opening readiness, and continuing check-ins. We agree the responsibilities, deliverables, and schedule around the project.

How do you support installation and technical work?

We help define operational requirements, evaluate proposals, track agreed milestones, and coordinate the business side of rollout and handover with your project team. Installation, engineering, and regulated technical services are carried out by appropriately qualified providers. The proposal confirms the project roles and any local requirements.

Can you work with our current security provider?

Yes. Review service expectations, post orders, reporting, oversight, and accountability, or develop a transition plan if you are changing providers. An in-house conversion is one option, not the goal of every engagement.

Can you support apartments, patrols, and monitoring programs?

Yes. Consulting can address residential access, visitor procedures, common-area risks, patrol specifications, camera-review workflows, and escalation responsibilities. Your team or an appropriately licensed provider delivers the guard, patrol, alarm, or monitoring service.

What if an assessment is required?

Share who is requesting it, the governing standard or request document, the deadline, and any assessor or sign-off requirements. We confirm whether the scope fits before quoting. Some mandates require a specialist, an approved assessor, or a specific format; a general risk review does not automatically satisfy every requirement.

Can you help with safety committees and compliance?

Yes. Engagements can include committee facilitation, training, minutes, action tracking, workplace violence prevention procedures, and IIPP coordination. Your employer remains responsible for implementation. Legal opinions and specialist hazards require the appropriate qualified adviser.

How are consulting fees set?

Published starting fees cover narrowly defined reviews, assessments, workshops, and advisory capacity. Program builds and expanded work receive a tailored proposal. Your site, evidence, complexity, deliverables, deadlines, specialist needs, and travel determine the final written scope and fee.

What does the $26 hourly figure mean?

It is the calculator’s editable starting wage for employee labor, not a consulting fee or an all-in staffing cost. Employer costs, relief coverage, benefits, management, and transition costs need their own allowances. Actual wages and vendor rates vary by role, location, and service.

Do you supply guards or issue licensing certifications?

These engagements are consulting services. Guard supply and other regulated services require an appropriately licensed provider. State-recognized licensing courses and certifications need an authorized training provider; an operational workshop does not itself issue a license.

The optional location suggestion requests an approximate region from this site’s hosting connection; it is not a precise property location, and the application does not store your IP address. Confirm the property location before applying any reference data. Submitted business inquiries are stored for follow-up, including the contact details, message, delivery/call preferences, and any calculator assumptions you explicitly choose to include.
